FAU

April 1st, 2008

i finally made it to write a post!!!!!! (*yeppi* to myself)

as claudia already said…it was a great experience to study a semester at FAU in Fort Lauderdale and i really wanna thank all the people who made it possible and helped us out so many times!!!

one of the things i discovered over there is a different way of designing…students work together in one big room. you can discuss your projects with other students and get feedback on your work all the time…yes, i mean all the time! even in the middle of the night or on sundays…and it’s still fun!

working at FAU during finals week

(…studio at FAU during finals week at 2:30 am)

of course we also had fun hanging out at the beach and the promenade down there…hi, hi

Las Olas beach

i had a great time!!!

the Architecture Building in Elgin.

März 25th, 2008

Here Are some pictures about our Architecture Building,

This is the studio, every student has a workplace here.

The Architecture student hide here when they dont want to go outside, exchange the latest gossip, are afraid of meeting real Humans from the outside world, or have to work on their projects.

Studio

This is an little bit twisted open staircase, some people say its quite thoughtless of the architect to provide the students with an open staircase right in front of the studio.

Stairs

Next to the Cafe is a nice Hall in which the designers and artist exhibit their works, allways worth a small sidetrip.

The Student cafe provides you with cheap Life Essence, in the morning there are even ten cans of free coffee provided, first comes first serves, usually its possible toget a free pot until 10:00 .
Gallerie

This is the Libary, the picture was taken during lunch time, thats probably why there are so few students around. Its a nice to place to hang around, surf the net, learn or borrow a book.

Libary

Next will be our dorm.

here you can observe a mild spring day in Chicago !

The white things on the road have not been there 10 minutes ago, its called new snow.

The snow on the oposite side is allready frozen and will never ever go away again – old snow.

The snow above me is falling and the flakes where really huge!

For the Architects – the building behind me is the new Judson University Architecture Building, it got a LEED Platinum Certification and has a lot of green gimmicks build in.
